Introduction
No oven, no yeast, no problem – this stovetop pizza is just what you need! Whether you are a student going away for school or a parent looking for a fun meal for your kids, this easy peasy pizza won’t disappoint.
Ingredients
For the Dough
- 1 cup (130 grams) All Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Sugar
- Pinch of Salt
- ½ tsp Baking Soda
- ½ tsp Baking Powder
- 2 tsp Oil
- 6 tbsp (105 grams) Yogurt
- 1 tsp Water, if necessary
For the Pizza Sauce
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 3 Garlic Cloves, finely chopped
- 1 cup Tomato puree/sauce
- ½ tsp Onion powder
- ½ tsp Oregano
- ½ tsp Chili Flakes
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- Pinch of Salt
- 1-2 tbsp Water, if necessary
For the Topping
- 1½ cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- ¼ cup Red onion finely sliced
- ⅛ cup Red Sweet Bell Peppers (chopped into small cubes)
- ⅛ cup Yellow Sweet Bell Peppers (chopped into small cubes)
- 4-5 Basil leaves
- ¼ cup Pepperoni
Method
- In a bowl, add all the ingredients for the dough and knead till you get a smooth soft dough.
- Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and allow the dough to rest for 1 hour.
- In a heated pot, add the olive oil and once the oil gets hot, add the garlic and sauté till the garlic flavours the oil.
- Toss in the tomato puree, onion powder, chilli flakes, oregano, sugar, lemon juice and salt.
- If necessary, add just a little water to adjust the consistency of the sauce.
- In a non stick skillet, on a medium heat brush on some oil, then place the pizza base and allow it to cook till golden brown on the bottom.
- Flip it over, reduce the heat to low and top the pizza base with the sauce, cheese, bell peppers, onions, basil leaves and pepperoni.
- Cover and allow to cook for 5 minutes
- Remove from the pan, allow it to rest for just about a minute before cutting.
